A series of six free conversational workshops to facilitate your integration to the University of Sydney.
 

The Speak & Connect program is a series of six free conversational workshops designed to help you meet new friends, practise and develop your English language and communication skills, and give you lots of useful tips and strategies for connecting at university. The workshops are peer-facilitated which means you get to connect with experienced local and international students who will give you plenty of tips to have a great time at university!

Registration for Semester 1 2024 will open on the 12th of February 2024

Workshop Attendance

By signing up to Speak & Connect, you're signing up to a program of 6 workshops. Workshops commence in week 2 of Semester and run until week 7.

Upon registration, you must select one out of 8 possible face-to-face workshop streams. Once a session is full, it will no longer appear as a selection option. You will be expected to join the same day and time each week for six weeks.

On Campus, face-to-face
  • Mondays - 12pm - 1:30pm  or  4pm - 5:30pm 
  • Tuesdays - 12pm - 1:30pm or  4pm - 5:30pm 
  • Wednesdays - 12pm - 1:30pm
  • Thursdays - 12pm - 1:30pm
  • Fridays - 12pm - 1:30pm  or  4pm - 5:30pm

Rewards Program

By attending the Speak & Connect program, you can access the following rewards.
  • 100% (6 workshops) - A USYD snow globe as pictured below + a limited-edition collectable pin.
  • 83 % (5 workshops) -a limited-edition collectable pin.
* Students who attend less than 60 mins of any 1.5-hour workshop cannot have their attendance recorded for the purpose of the rewards program.

Attending the Speak & Connect program may also help you accrue points towards professional engagement programs offered in your course of study at the University of Sydney and other award programs.
